First Aid & Injuries

Injuries to Players

When a player is injured during a game only one person is permitted to enter the field of play after being called on by the referee. A basic First Aid kit can be obtained from the canteen at Oakleigh Oval. If there is any chance of further injury to a player by moving that player, do not move him/her. Instead, call for professional help and try and keep the player as comfortable as possible until professional help arrives. Always remember that the well-being of the players is more important than the game.

Dehydration

Parents are encouraged to ensure players are properly hydrated before and during matches and training sessions. All players are to bring a full water bottle to matches and training.

Warm-ups

All players should undergo "warm-up" routines before matches and training sessions to reduce the risk of muscle injuries.
