2010 Coaches and Managers Night
To be held on Monday 22nd of March at the Pennant Hills Bowling Club from 7.30pm
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------All teams are required to have a Coach and a Manager to ensure that they are properly organised and that the season runs smoothly. Whilst Thornleigh Thunder FC attempts to find as many coaches for our teams as possible and is fortunate to have a number of Premier League players coaching junior teams, we also need to rely on the support of the players' parents in each team to fill positions.
In summary, the responsibilities of Coaches and Managers are:
Coaches : Coaches Code of Conduct (PDF format) | Infosheet: Coaching Session Checklist (PDF format) | Factsheet: Coaching Young Children (PDF format)Organise and run training sessions (normally once a week, but the frequency is at the discretion of each team's coach and parents)
Organise the team at matches (including warm-up routines, position of players and player substitutions).
Whilst the coach is responsible for running training sessions, assistance from parents at training sessions is usually appreciated particularly in the younger age groups where players tend to require more supervision.
GHFA run Introductory Coaching Courses which are open to coaches of all teams (including Thornleigh) in the GHFA. Coaching courses are run over four (4) nights, (two (2) nights per week). Thornleigh Thunder FC will pay the fee for any of our coaches to encourage them to attend. Interested people should contact the Thornleigh Thunder FC Secretary.
Managers : Manager's Checklist (PDF format)Managers generally need to act as a point of communication within their team and between the team and Thunder FC, manage the teams affairs including at matches, and organise parents duty rosters to fulfil the team's obligations through the season.
